Eco-Friendly Flood Damage Reduction
Study Team
The Clear Creek Study Team is made up of representatives of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District (USACE) and the three local sponsors: Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD), Galveston County, and Brazoria Drainage District No. 4 (BDD#4).
The Study Team meets at least monthly at the USACE offices in Galveston. The group discusses the progress of the study, project alternatives, and the results of on-going data collection. Federal law prohibits opening Study Team meetings to the public, but Harris County Flood Control District coordinates regular meetings of a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC). The Clear Creek CAC is made up of local citizens, environmental leaders, and public officials.
Pictured are Study Team members (left to right) Kevin Shanley of the SWA Group (under contract to the USACE), Carol Holloway (USACE), John Baker (USACE), Carolyn Murphy (USACE), Robert Van Hook (partially obscured-USACE), Shannon Sefcik (HCFCD), and Jeff Brennan (Commissioner-BDD#4).
